1. What does a bookkeeper actually do?

 

I keep track of every dollar coming in and going out of your business. I categorize transactions, reconcile your bank and credit card accounts, and keep your books current, so you always know where you stand and you’re ready at tax time.

2. How much does your bookkeeping cost?

Monthly bookkeeping starts at $250 per month. I charge a flat monthly fee based on your transaction volume and the services you need, so you know exactly what you’ll pay each month. Cleanup and catch-up projects are quoted as a flat fee after I review your books.

3. Do I need a bookkeeper if I already use QuickBooks?

Yes. QuickBooks is a tool, not a service. Someone still has to set it up correctly, categorize transactions properly, and make sure everything reconciles. As a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, I often find costly mistakes in files that owners have been managing on their own.

4.  How often will you work on my books?

Most small businesses have their books updated weekly or monthly.  The right frequency depends on your transaction volume and how current you need your numbers to be.

5. Will I still have access to my own books?

Always. Your books are yours. You keep full access to your QuickBooks Online file at all times, and I’ll walk you through your reports so you know what they’re telling you.

6. What if my books are a mess or haven’t been touched in months?

That’s more common than you’d think, and it’s one of the things I do most. I’ll review where things stand, quote a flat fee to get you caught up, and then move you into regular monthly bookkeeping.

7. Do you work remotely, or do you need to come to my office?

I work 100% remotely in QuickBooks Online. I’m based in Escondido and work with businesses across San Diego County, including San Marcos, Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, and Temecula. I can also support clients anywhere in the US.

8. How do I know I can trust you with my finances?
